Kate Vandokkumburg, LMSW (she/her), is a psychotherapist who works with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, attachment issues, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, parenting and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve had therapy before, Kate is committed to meeting you where you are and creating a space where you feel understood, supported, and respected.
Her approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. Kate believes that you are the expert on your own life, and she works alongside you to identify your goals and determine what will feel most helpful in your healing and growth. She strives to foster a nonjudgmental, trauma-informed environment where you can feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Kate utilizes evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing. Through these approaches, she helps clients better understand their emotions, build effective coping skills, and navigate life’s challenges with greater confidence and resilience
