Helping you feel understood, create emotional safety, and find the next step forward.
Courtney Baum-Rasmussen, LMSW-C, has been a social worker for nearly a decade, developing most of her clinical experience within the public mental health system. This has given her the opportunity to work with a variety of clients with different backgrounds and challenges, such as severe and persistent mental illness, developmental disabilities, and neurodivergence. Regardless of presenting issue, she values developing the working relationship through a lens of mindfulness, cultural humility, and continuous learning.
Throughout her time in the field, she has observed how many issues are often affected and compounded by systemic factors outside of one’s control. For this reason, she strives to meet others where they are at; and aims to provide an emotionally safe and comfortable space to process these concerns and care for one’s self. Additionally, she values connecting others to community resources that can help meet unmet needs, and has extensive knowledge of social service resources in Michigan.
Courtney also has a strong personal and professional interest in Disability Pride, education, and advocacy, and the ways in which mental illness and neurodivergence intersect with these topics. Additionally, she takes particular interest in the correct identification and treatment of OCD. She looks forward to partnering with clients in order to help them identify the next step that is right for them.
